Every wedding has its special moment, a little bit of the day, as an observer, I treasure. Our job as wedding photographers is to capture the feel of the day, the moments, the happiness, the love and the laughter. Every wedding has a moment that stays with me, and at every wedding this moment is different.
Claire and Rich, who tied the knot at The Carbis Bay Hotel last weekend had many many moments. Stunning Claire in her amazing dress, holding tropical flowers with an English twist. The beautiful bridesmaids and the gorgeous flower girls. The peach, mint and candy pink summer colours. The decor of balloons and bunting, so pretty and summery. The lovely groom and his men, so smart in navy suits. But my personal special moment was a first for us here at Kiss. The first dance on the sand. Picture this, you marry, your guest’s enjoy a meal, then they drift down to the hotels private beach. An area has been condoned off just for you, the beach bar is open and a guitar player is playing your favorite tunes. Your guest enjoy a game of volley ball. Children are laughing having fun, the adult guests sipping champagne. Then “your song” comes on ( INXS-Never Tear Us Apart… LOVE IT!!!!!) and your guest’s form a circle on on sand and you dance your first dance. And there it was THE wedding moment, amazing!
It did help it was the perfect summer day and the beach was pretty empty and stunning, I wouldn’t say Claire and Rich were lucky, I would just say these lovely two deserved the perfect weather for their perfect day. The theme was beachy, pebbles and painted shells on the tables, a total beach themed cake complete with cute beach huts. The sweet bar was a tribute to Rich’s Dad and did the family name proud, it was filled with every favorite English sweet and took me right back to my childhood.
