We shoot a lot of interiors. Every now and then one stays with me. Last week it was 25 The Digey.
Tucked away in downalong St.Ives, we certainly wasn’t expecting this at all!
Downalong is known for its tiny fisherman cottages, everyone St.Ives born and bread has either lived in one or had a grandparent/cousin/Aunty that did. All harden St.Ives holiday makers have stayed in one. Downalong, steeped in history with its little cobbled streets and twisting roads just wide enough for a car. A ghost town in the winter the wild winds thrashing around the corners and the most lively place ever in the summer. Everyone has some connection with this area, the heart and hub of St.Ives.
The cottages in Downalong are tiny, very cute and very, very old fisherman cottages, and that’s what everyone knows Downalong to be, so when we ventured up the steps to this cottage we were shocked at this light bright spacious holiday let with three bedrooms!
25 The Digey that’s let by Aspects is just wonderful. Full of character, views over Porthmeor, original features and fabulous touches. I love the coloured vintage cocktail glasses and the artist styled corner. I loved the floorboards, the furniture. This place ticked all my boxes… would I holiday there? absolutely. Heck if it was ever up for sale I would sell all my worldly goods, beg and borrow to buy the place. Its just perfect.
