Down a country road, through an old Cornish village, there is a special place, a clearing surrounded by bamboo, a place so peaceful and quite and so very special. Rachel and Zac filled this place full of people they know and love to celebrate their wedding.
This special place is Retorrick Mill. The service was wonderful, the rings were passed around and those present where asked to silently bless the rings, a hand fasting took place. Guests sat in the sunshine on haybales in the sunshine and the stream babbled behind the couple. Rachels mum had made a beautiful Macrame arch way as the alter. The setting couldn’t have been more perfect for this lovely couple. Rachel, the absolutely stunning bride in her backless dress with her beautiful smile couldn’t have looked more perfect and her lovely groom Zac couldn’t have been happier.
After the service the guests wandered down the path to the rustic barn, filled with an eclectic mix of chairs and tables and mismatched plates. Rachel and Zac had styled this place perfectly with wild flowers in glass vases and pink and green pottery storm lanterns. The wood buring ovens and the fantastic styling and atmosphere, took me to another place, where festivals are just filled with those you know, fire pits waiting to be lit, places to hang out and and places for children to run free.
The food was incredible, and served in a perfectly casual way that made you feel as if you had popped over a friends to eat and yet that friend was the best cook ever.
Once the cake was cut Zacs friend took charge of the knife and cut portions to anyone that wanted one, which made the guests gather round and for me, made the cake cutting moment even more special and memorable and turned an ordinary wedding event into a socal occasion.
Rachel and Zac hit the nail on the head with this wedding, the kids had a ball, the guests had a ball, the photographers had a ball, the details were incredible, the venue inspiring, the after party with the band ‘Some Like It Hot’ was just perfect.
Which just leaves me to add a personal message to the bride and groom. Rachel and Zac you were both so in love, such good fun, your gorgeous boys were just lovely and you both looked amazing, we could tell you enjoyed every single moment of your day and everyone shared in your delight. It was a pleasure to cover your wedding, and we were so happy to be part of it, thank you.
