Came home yesterday from the Handmade Wedding Fair feeling totally inspired and feeling like I should be baking bread while learning to make lace!
The wedding fair was amazing, rooms of very talented creative friendly people all together in a fantastic location ( The old bakery studios) passionate about weddings and producing some totally beautiful amazing things. Sarah Drew, the amazing vintage jewelery designer organised the fair, and her stand was incredible, the headbands looked so lovely and everyone who tried one on I think will be buying. Holly Young, very talented, even held a fascinator workshop. I fell in love with Jane Squirrell‘s Ivy and hazel hearts wreaths and stars, and found myself planning a party in my head where I could be using her work to decorate the room! The brides wandered round drinking tea out of vintage tea cups supplied by The very Vintage Tea company. Grace Notes jazz band played the whole time we were there, and we were right opposite them, they were just fab and I would recommend them to any bride and groom. And of course there was bunting… The Big Beautiful Bunting co. was there and I am a bunting fan, my girls rooms are covered in bunting, and thank you Georgie for giving us a make your own mini bunting kit for us to make with them at home!
The fair reminded me of exactly why we entered the wedding business with our photography company. Coming from a fashion background , and Ricky from an Art and Magazine background we fell in love with the beauty of weddings. I love details, I love creativity I love catching moments. Weddings sum up all my passions. Every bride and groom, no matter what there wedding is like, puts a little of themselves into it. Whether it be the way they decorate the room, or make the cake themselves, or kart Surfboards down to the beach for a pre-wedding surf, all weddings are personal. I love spending the day catching that moment, that detail, that passion. Handmade wedding fair, was all the people, who help make those days come true for couples, who have the talent and the insight to make those dreams real. The funky stationary, the added bit of specialness. It was a honor to be there, and thankyou for the bookings we have already from the couples we met. See you in 2012! x
