All wedding’s, even if at the same venue are different. Every bride and groom adds a little something to their day and makes it their very own. On Saturday we were at Carly and Shayne’s special day at Rose-In-Vale. I was so excited by this wedding, Ricky had done a recce of the venue a few weeks before as it was a first for us, and confirmed I would just love it! When I arrived I think I fell in love. I will set the scene; A small manor house ( I later found out it was old tin minors cottages converted.. lucky ole’ tin minors I say!) with a huge drive way, a bubbling stream with a cute little bride, on crossing the bridge a sprawling English garden, peaceful, birds singing, the edges left wild enough to bring a truly English meadow quality to the venue, and it was in this very garden that Carly and Shayne said their marriage vows.
I do so love weddings, if I am honest; any wedding, I am truly passionate about them, if I had more time I would plan them, make the cakes and do the flowers as well as the photography! But this location was a dream. I love anything quintessentially English, and Rose-In-Vale really is. When the lovely Carly emerged out of the hotel, just seen between the leaves, bathed in sunlight. Her and her Dad, Keith, wandered over the garden and over the bridge, seeing them had to be one of the most romantic things, as the guests got the full effect of the bride being led to her husband who was waiting for her across the lawn. it was quite beautiful and something i will never forget.
Shayne must have felt so very proud at that point watching her elegantly walking to marry him on the arm of her father. She looked so stunning in her white dress of swathed taffeta. Holding her bouquet of beautiful peonies and roses and herbs.
The service went off like a dream, with lovely registrar’s, who let us be free to do our job ( thank you ) but the location lent itself to it, we could move freely around and capture it all, as there was so much space. The children their were perfectly behaved, as they had the option of freedom and it would not have disturbed anyone. Just perfect.
After the service, the sun was so hot, the guests had Pimm’s in the garden and canapes, that a host of waiters served. In fact the guest’s stayed outside for the day and into the evening, going in only to eat the wedding breakfast.
The whole atmosphere was relaxed and chilled and felt like a wonderful garden party.
Carly and Shayne, genuinely lovely, friendly, happy people, were great. They had a formal list of photographs as long as your arm, but were so chilled about it, it just happened. ( with the help of Shannon, the amazing usherette, who I would gladly take on as a assistant, she was so good!)
We had a really special day, with two special people. I would like to wish Carly and Shayne the very best of what life has to offer, and I would also like to add what lovely family and friends they have that make our working day wonderful. Rose-In-Vale, great location! hope we get to work there again and soon!
