After a three week holiday, what a lovely wedding to come home to!
Jem and Kate… what can I say. We see love and romance on pretty much a daily basis this time of year, what with the engagement shoot’s, weddings and bride to be meeting’s, but today kind of blew me away, Kate and Jem, well they just radiated love!
When we met up with them some time ago, they told us they wanted the most relaxed wedding day… EVER! And our reaction was.. “fantastic!.. and does that mean we can ditch our suits for the day?”.. and the answer was, “of course, most of the guests will be in shorts! ” …. fab!
The service was at Camborne Registry office, where the registrar was relaxed and just lovely , then it was onto Carbis Bay beach for a massive friends and family picnic, fun and music.
I have to say it was just incredible how chilled the afternoon was, Mums, Grannies and Sisters, step dads and friends, staggered down to the beach loaded up with pasties, sandwiches and cream teas. Guests brought kayaks, wetsuits, surfboards and dinghy’s. The kids ( and there was a lot of them) chucked on swimwear and just ran to the sea, hollering with delight, then the adults pretty much followed. As Kate and Jem had 4 young children, we did a lovely family shoot first, before the kids missed out on too much fun, then the picnic lunch began, and we took the happy couple off for a few moments alone to get, what i can only describe as Barbados beach photographs, Carbis Bay beach was pretty amazing today, check it our below and see for yourself.
The speeches were done on the sand, with Kate and Jem sitting down slipping cloudy lemonade, while the kids buried each other ( lets be honest, kids don’t ‘do’ speeches, and they had the beach at their disposal. Then the beach party fun continued, the Smiths came on and Kate and Jem had a first dance at 3pm in the sand.. and why not, it was just that kind of day!
We had a lovely afternoon, with a very happy and lovely couple, we had a lovely pasty and I have to say what a truly brilliant day. I hope Kate and Jem feel they achieved what the set out to achieve, the most relaxed wedding day, we feel it was just that, and it was perfect.
