TRASH THE DRESS
I am sure most of you reading this blog would have heard of this. For those of you who have not here’s how it goes:
You get married in an amazing wedding dress, you know (however much you try and convince yourself when purchasing your very expensive wedding dress) that you will NEVER wear this dress again!
So you can bundle it up in the attic in a bin bag (never to be seen again), sell it on Ebay, give it to a charity shop, or TRASH THE DRESS.
So trash the dress is a fun morning or afternoon that you wear your dress one more time and hit the streets.
You can do anything thing you want and here at Kiss photography we have decided that we would love to photograph a trash the dress day, so heres some tips from us:
If you are in Cornwall the beach is never far away. Start off with a paddle, lift the dress above the water, get your new hubby, he can wear his suit, roll up his trousers and in he goes to. We will photograph great shots of the two of you having fun. Running in and out of the waves makes great pictures, and then the dress needs to be trashed! Dare you go right in? you will feel like a mermaid and the end results of you emerging out of the water look fantastic. Its the sort of thing you only see in magazines. We are visualising some great moody black and whites for this.
The last set of photos will be the walk back up the beach, the dress shimmering with seawater, the shocked looks of anyone who happens to be on the beach that day.
Bride on a bike, a cool rock-chick sort of shoot, hike the dress up and sit on. The bike doesnt even have to be moving to get the most fantastic photos. If you husband or you are keen bikers, bring your bike along. If you dont have a bike, but like the idea, we have a beautiful metalic silver mean machine and we are happy to bring it with us as a prop! We will do anything for a great photo!
A wander through the woods:
Woods are beautiful places, and make fantastic backdrops, but not really the sort of place you want to be wandering through on your wedding day. They can be muddy, have piles of leaves lying around, and bushes that can snag.
Climb a tree in your dress, run through the woods, play in the leaves, jump in a stream or roll in the mud. For the sexy elf/fairy look this one could be for you.
There are tons of different locations that work, a busy high street takes on a surreal look with the Saturday shoppers, a farm is fantastic, horseriding, go-carting, paintballing, its really what you fancy.
Make it a girly day out if your husband to be isn’t into it and get your bridesmaids to trash their dresses as well. You can all chip in and share the cost and have it as a after wedding hen day?
So if you are there with your dress already in the attic and want to have a chat with us on trashing your dress give us a call. Or we have already photographed your wedding and would like us to come back for a trashing session, you know where we are.
We will photograph a mixture of beautiful editorial style photos, with a hint of mischief to full on fun and trashing so you will get a real mixture. You can bring friends, husbands, bridesmaids and guests. The only restrictions are you and how far you want to go………
