At the beginning of a New Year I like to sit and re-cap what the previous year brought for us here at Kiss Photography.
I sat down this morning and looked through last years blogs and had a wonderful hour reading and re-capping and re-living one of our best years yet!
2014 started off for us shooting an early winter wedding with Olly Murs as a guest. This was at The Carbis Bay Hotel and the whole thing caused quite a stir in St.Ives.
The year brought us to castles, churches and hotels. We shot at new locations we had never even heard of to our good old favourites, that feels like home we are there so often.
We went to the windy shores of Cape Cornwall to the beautiful gardens of Tremenheere. We had brides on top of camper vans and brides paddling in the sea.
We also experienced our first Marry-oke filmed by Dove Films. What a fun day that was!
We had the bride who made her own wedding dress and has now made a career out of it, and the bride who blew me away with her courage and strength on such an emotionally charged day. We had the worst rainy day ever in the history of Kiss Photography and we got some of our most favourite shots on that day. When I did the edit I don’t think I have smiled as much as I did that afternoon!
I saw (but didn’t taste!) the best dessert table ever at The Carbis Bay Hotel and Tregenna Castle had some pretty amazing styling going on this year, the vintage books and lace runway will stay with me forever!
We have worked a lot with our favourite camper van company; Cornwall VW Wedding Hire, whose professionalism is second to none and really does absolutely everything in their power to make all wedding dreams come true, even stopping traffic for us at Gwithian so we could get the perfect shot, you blew us away that day!
We have spent many a wedding with our dear friend Kevin from Plan9Video and enjoyed using his amazing light for first dance shots! cheers Kev!
We have shot so many local weddings filled with families from St.Ives it has been a pleasure and an honour and we have met so many people that have travelled miles to have the wedding of their dreams in Cornwall, which makes me feel so proud to live here.
On top of all this we have also shot so many family shoots on the beaches of St.Ives. Local families, holiday makers and family re-unions. You have all been so wonderful. We have worked with so may kids that have really made my day and I wish I could award them all a gold star for the shots we got of them.
Our interior and food photography side of our business has flourished and we found ourselves working with St.Ives famous Porthminster Cafe shooting the chefs signature dessert from South Africa for The Great British Cookbook!
Our work has taken us to London’s city to shoot a finance company corporate image shots and we have seen inside St.Ives best holiday lets thanks to Cherished Cottages.
We have worked with Boskerris Hotel this winter, who sports one of the best views from their deck in the world ( yes I will go that far, check it out!)
We have started working with local company DPI St Ives and are very excited with this project, more will be revealed in 2015.
What a year! can we top it? well looking at the diary absolutely. So excited about the weddings we have on the cards this year. We have some creative brides that will be a pleasure to capture their beautiful weddings and some brides that want it shot totally in a journalist style, which we love too. Bring it on 2015 we are so ready for you!
