Monthly Archives: September 2010

We are just loving this fantastic September weather we are having. There may be a slight nip in the air, but the sun is perfect. The light is amazing and we feel that our photographs are just incredible. Theres something about a September sky, just the right amount of cloud to make an interesting backdrop, and yet the sun is making the sea sparkle. Now it better last we are off to The Carbis Bay Hotel on Thursday to photograph another wedding!

Lorna and Johnathan, The Carbis Bay Hotel, Mum and Dad, brothers, sister and there wonderful children, and a fantastic afternoon.

Lorna called me up last winter and we got on fantastically on the phone. She’s bubbly, friendly and just lovely, so of course her wedding day would reflect just that, and it did. Johnathan and Lorna and their two boys Zack and Ned were fun and so very cute!. I was there as Lorna walked down the stairs, she looked stunning, and was full of emotion. Ned went running over to her and flung himself at her and they sat on the stairs cuddling. As a photographer, these moments are so precious, they are the raw emotion of the day, and I was honoured to be there.

We still had the moment to come when the groom saw her, and he just shone, with love.

The beautiful service and the beautiful bride and then the whole wedding party went down to the beach.

The childran let off steam and we got some wonderful action shots. Little Zack woke from his nap for a bit of fun on the sand, and everybody enjoyed themselves.

Back to The Carbis Bay Hotel and champagne was sipped, confetti was thrown and then food was served.

Lorna and Johathan, thankyou for the wonderful meal and thankyou for being so lovely and so chilled! Lorna I said it today and I must say it again, your dress…. perfect!

Pleasure to be part of your amazing day.

Its all about love this week. Kingsley Village wedding fair was a massive success, and the bookings are flooding in for next year.

We are meeting brides on a daily basis, and still shooting weddings, next stop The Lovely Carbis Bay Hotel tomorrow.

I feel as if our feet aren’t touching the ground!  September is always busy, but this September we haven’t stopped.

We also had the lovely Benjamin Bird, London pianist come down for a photoshoot. It poured with rain non stop that day, the amazing beach shots that were planned, happened, but not quite as we pictured them. Victoria at The Carbis Bay Hotel saved the day and let us borrow the piano, so at least we got some ‘dry ‘ photographs.

The photographs have turned out great, which considering the elements were really against us, is quite something.

I found myself saying something today that I just wanted to repeat on this blog, we really do have the best job in the world! and its thanks to all the fab people we get to photograph and all the fantastic wedding coordinators that we spend so much time with and all the lovely families we meet. Next year may be a busy one, but bring it on!

The amazing Scarlet Hotel, a very ,very special wedding venue for a beautiful intimate classy wedding. Sandra and Mathew, it was a pleasure to be part of your day.

A lovely service in the cool sophisticated surroundings, started the afternoon. Afterward the guests sipped champagne and ate amazing ‘petite tapas.’

Then it was off to the beach for a paddle, ring-of roses… and a dance! yes the champagne had flowed and everyone was in the mood for fun!

The Scarlet Hotel is a dream to photograph a wedding at, Sandra and Mathew are such wonderful, relaxed, happy fun people,  and so in love, who are going to enjoy there life together to the very full. And their families were so great.

A pleasure to be there, I know you guys are going to have a fab evening tonight.

Looking through the photographs, they are quite something!
