We have been at The Carbis Bay Hotel twice this month, photographing weddings and both times there was a rainbow in the sky. Quite magical I am sure you will agree. At the first wedding it was just after we got back from the beach with the bride and groom, as they stepped through the conservatory door the sky had this huge rainbow across it, we got it on film, bride and groom under a rainbow , beach in the background , I was chuffed! Kirsty and Scott had an amazing wedding at the Carbis Bay Hotel on Saturday. Working with Kirsty was like working with a professional, she was amazing. We had a lovely morning in her room getting the bridal preparation shots. Her sister, Mum and Nan were great. ( and I have employed Nan to come with me to every wedding, shes incredible!) The room at the Carbis Bay Hotel, as always, looked amazing, as Kirsty walked in wearing her beautiful oyster dress, with the gorgeous side detail, I think the whole room gasped with delight. I was flicking through a magazine today and I was reading an article about the amazing Nicky Grant, Cornwall’s answer to Jane Asher! Nicky Grants cakes are so  lovely, her chocolate cakes are quite delicious! Basically this article was saying how brides are moving away from the traditional fruit cake and going more for the full on chocolate numbers. So it got me thinking about all the cakes we have seen at weddings in the last couple of months. Now I love a traditional fruit cake myself, has to be with the royal icing though.
